My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We must have an application to move forward. (Shayne's Rescue is an affiliate with PetCentralSATX). If there are problems with the website, please email me for help.

MAX is a neutered male, approximately 6 ½ yrs old. He weighs 20#. (See below for his DNA Test.) We have had him professionally groomed to show off his beautiful tail. We had him shaved some which helps him keep clean. He’s a very sweet dog but he has gone through a major life event...the owner had to surrender him due to their loss of housing. Max took the adjustment hard but he has pulled through and now shows himself to be a wonderful affectionate dog. He is active and happy yet shy and submissive. He was not exposed to much of the outside world… like walking into the store or going to the park. Max gets along great with the other dogs. He asks to go outside and demands to come back in...scratching at the door. I see a lot of future for him with a loving person or couple that would like some company on an evening walk and fun with a picnic lunch. He is food motivated. Max likes being on the couch or in bed with his person. Max frequently comes up asking for love. He is house trained and most of the time he leaves my cats alone. I did catch him playing with one of my cats... they were both face-to-face and with one paw each swinging at each other. I wish I could have gotten that in a video. Max is also easy on the leash. I would NOT put him with young children… “adult-like” children would be fine. He is basically fairly quiet and would do well in an apartment.

Adoption Fees
The adoption fee includes transportation to the NE. All pups and dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, have a negative heart worm test for all dogs over 6 months at time of transport, have a health certificate, and have all age-appropriate vaccinations. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and other vetting.

All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog.

This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose.

Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

We have no means of transporting our dogs to the NE without it being a pre-adoption. All our dogs were saved in Texas. Our transporters go to the Northeast typically 3-4 times/month to OH, PN, NY, VT, CT, NJ, MD and VA. Likely one of our transports also can go to NH and ME and even FLA too! All dogs must be pre-adopted because we have no fosters in the NE. We also adopt in Pacific Northwest and mid-west as well. Some of our adopters have come from both Canada and Alaska. We do adoption events in Olympia, WA once/month at The Pet Works in Olympia, and once/month at Tractor Supply in Olympia, WA. You can email us at shaynesrescue.com for inquiries/questions, etc.

More about this rescue

We used to call ourselves Shayne's Rescue as we used to rescue dogs. Hence our webiste: shaynesrescue.com.
Please see the 'resource section' which has excellent information for anyone with a dog or pup. Now, we are Shayne's Fosters as we foster TX rescue pups & dogs.. We assist several Texas rescuers where shelters kill 80-99% of what comes in besides the millions and millions of strays on the streets. Hence, we foster for TX rescues who do impeccable jobs of vetting, quarantine all of their pups/dogs and send up the best dogs we have ever met. All have a health certificate prior to transport (vet visit). We work super hard volunteering and we can always use more assistance from volunteers!

Please do apply. We have so many dogs and puppies available.

This application we use (see below) is for our long term partner Pet Central SATX Rescue. Typically, we only post puppies in the Northeast and all of our puppies posted in the Northeast are currently from this rescue in San Antonio, TX.
