My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rascal is a handsome 1-year-old male tuxedo cat with a big personality and an even bigger love for people. True to his name, he’s super social, outgoing, and happy to be part of whatever is going on around him.

Rascal enjoys attention, seeks out companionship, and is the kind of cat who makes himself right at home. He’s friendly, confident, and clearly thrives on human interaction — a great match for someone looking for a cat who truly wants to be part of the family.

Rascal does have Feline Herpes, which is very common in cats and typically managed with minimal care. For Rascal, it doesn’t slow him down or change his cheerful, affectionate nature — it’s simply something his future adopter should be aware of. Our team is happy to answer any questions and help ensure a smooth transition into his new home.

Rascal is available during our Home for the Holidays Feline Adoption Event, taking place Thursday–Sunday, December 18–21, by appointment.
• Cats ages 1–7: $25 adoption fee
• Seniors: no fee

If you’re looking for a friendly, people-loving cat with loads of charm, Rascal may be your perfect match. Please visit upaws.org to fill out an Adoption Interest Form and schedule an appointment to meet him.

More about this shelter

We are a local non-profit organization run and staffed by your neighbors. We make decisions on caring for homeless, unwanted, abandoned and abused domestic animals based on what we believe is best for them. We have no affiliation with any larger group and we receive no funding from any larger group that might influence our decisions or actions.

We advocate only for the animals in our care to help them find their forever home with you.

UPAWS does not receive operating funds from any governmental agency. We rely on donations from our neighbors and friends to make our efforts possible. We save consistently 98% of the animals who come to us – which is an award-winning success story. We want to educate everyone on proper animal care so there soon won’t be the three percent who come to us too sick or wounded to be saved. It’s your support that makes this dream possible.
