My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

IN FOSTER: Mies and Minnie's foster is committed to helping them find a new family! To begin the adoption process, please reach out to the foster directly at: lesliesdhsfostervolunteer@gmail.com.

How this pet arrived:
Mies was brought in by a community member on October 4, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Minnie #968507 and Mies #446698 (pronounced Meece) are bonded sisters who are looking for a home together! They're currently in a foster home and we have had the joy of seeing them settle in and show their sweet, gentle natures. Gentle and affectionate, they've only lived indoors in a calm, quiet home and will do best in a similar environment - they haven't ever lived with other pets or children, so a home without those things may be best. They may be shy at first, but with patience they warm up beautifully. Minnie could use a little diet and extra playtime, but both adore treats, daily brushing, wand toys, and the occasional catnip party. They're tidy girls who do best with at least two jumbo litter boxes. Most days they nap together, then in the evenings cuddle on the couch, the bed, or their kitty condos. They enjoy both wet and dry food, and "squeeze-up" treats are a favorite. If you think these sweet sisters might be the right fit, reach out about adopting today!

At SDHS:
Minnie has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. She is now ready for her new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
