Please read the pet description IN IT'S ENTIRETY before applying.  Thank you for your cooperation.

STRAY/  NEW INTAKE

NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS – NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION

NEW INTAKE 10/4/2025:   Bug Mushroom - female - approx 2 years old - 10.0 pounds - Pug

Reason for intake:  This little girl, we named Bug Mushroom, was found dragging her back legs in the Pinecrest Mobile Home Park off of Jefferson Paige Road in Shreveport.  A nice lady spotted her and picked her up.  She reached out to a local rescuer and between the two, they posted on Facebook for help.  Someone messaged Ninna about the dog and we agreed to take her in.   On intake, it appears she's been this way for some time.  She does not seem to be in any pain or have any feeling in her back end.  Her back end also appears to have atrophied (decreased muscle mass) over time.  She's heading to our vet Monday 10/6/25 to find out what's going on and then we can go from there.  We have notified animal control.  She is not chipped, so we did microchip her.  If this is your dog, please message our Facebook page ASAP.  We don't go off of "see if the dog answers to XXXX"...  we must have proof as in pictures and other provable information.

NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS:  Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed.  Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining.   In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason.  We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption.  In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered.  Please note…  we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption.  Please wait until the dog is available for adoption.  We will post him or her on Facebook in our Adoptable Dog Album pinned to the top of our page which you can follow at this link:  https://www.facebook.com/share/1B46skRWF5/ OR you can keep checking our website at www.roadtorescuela.org.  We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

Be responsible ~  Always spay/neuter, keep your dogs on heartworm prevention, vaccinate against disease... and if you bring a pet into your life, commit to that pet for life.  Blessings.
