She has learned the joys of being loved and safe and…now she’s ready to enjoy life. Quartz still has a lot of kitten energy. She chases and leaps after her wand toys, she lunges with enthusiasm at her catnip-filled kick sticks. Lately Quartz has also begun enjoying morning zoomies when breakfast is over. When it comes to affection, Quartz loves to give and receive. Her favorite thing is having her shoulders lightly rubbed. She purrs like a motorboat and shows her gratitude by offering hugs and kisses. Quartz is looking for a quiet home with hands ready to pet her!

We have worked hard to make our adoption process as easy as possible. We like to think of the process in four steps: application, phone conversation, meet and greet and adoption day. We will get back to applicants within a few days even if they were not chosen.

All of our animals are in foster homes. To meet an animal please fill out our adoption application and we will get back to you to schedule a meet and greet if it seems it could be a good fit.

Paws and Claws Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the Chicagoland area dedicated to preventing, and alleviating the suffering caused by abuse, neglect, and overpopulation. We help dogs and cats mentally and physically heal, and give them a chance to find love, a full life, and a forever home.
Our focus is on rescuing orphaned neonatal kittens, nursing kittens with their feral mothers, under-socialized cats, and dogs who have been at Chicago Animal Care and Control for too long. We see ourselves as the crossing guards for these vulnerable animals, helping them get from their past, whether that be from a traumatic home, a kennel, or a euthanasia list, to a safe and kind human who will love them.
