Here's what the humans have to say about me:
If you're a fan of tripods and know how resilient they can be, we would love for you to check out Pillsbury! We saw Pillsbury's social media post in a California shelter with a badly broken front leg. He was so sweet and gentle despite the pain he must have been in and we knew he was worth saving. He didn't need to lose his life for a broken leg. After an amputation and a quick recovery, Pillsbury is ready to start enjoying life!
- Approximately 13 months old and 62 pounds
- Breed mix unknown, but maybe some bully mix in there? He has very thin fur on his head and speckled spots all over his body. We were mesmerized by his uniqueness!
- Prefer a home without a ton of stairs for navigation purposes. Pillsbury does run and play and he can do short walks. He's pretty fast when he gets the zoomies!
- Nice medium to low energy boy. He can be playful outside and then comes inside and is well mannered and a couch potato.
- Great with other dogs both small and large, male and female. He has been fostered with 10 different dogs and has been playful and respectful with them all. He even tolerated a really rambunctious small breed puppy biting at his face and was so gentle.
- Good with cats and fostered with two kitties
- Best with children ages 10+ only because loud noises and high levels of indoor activity can make him a little nervous. He is currently fostered with dog savvy kiddos as young as 6 though and is a little less phased by them with each passing day.
- Loves men and women both
- CUDDLY and loves to lounge on the couch with you giving lots of snuggles
- Tends to whine in the crate and will need further efforts on crate training. He is not destructive when home alone though and just sleeps.
- Potty trained and has been very good with his potty habits
- A little nervous in the car but willingly goes for rides and is getting more accustomed to car rides. No car sickness noted.
- No leash reactivity noted
- No separation anxiety noted
- Zero aggression seen, just a gentle, tender-hearted, wonderful dog who has been through so much but was always kind.
Pillsbury is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, bloodwork is good, dewormed and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. His adoption fee also includes a free wellness exam at one of our partner vet clinics in Oregon City, Milwaukie, Tualatin or Portland.
