My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello! Unfortunately my husband and I have come to the sad conclusion that we will need to rehome our 3 year old Aussie, Augie. We adopted Augie in 2022 when she was 6 months, after she was found on the streets of Bakersfield.

We had a baby this past December and Augie just hasn’t seemed to get comfortable with the baby. We also aren’t able to give her the attention and exercise she needs to be happy.

Augie came to us leading heavily with anxious behaviors— lunging and barking at anything that would pass us. We put in a lot of training with her and she has improved so much. She’s a loyal dog and will bark when meeting new people but warms up quickly.

She’s very friendly and snuggly once she’s familiar with you. She would do okay with a house with another dog, but a slow introduction at first would be helpful. She would not do okay with a house with cats or children.

She’s a sweet girl who would thrive with an active owner!
