When Amelie came to TC Paw with her three kittens, she was a frightened, feral cat. We kept her in a cage with her kittens, planning to find homes for them after they were weaned and to spay, vaccinate, and ear-tip Amelie and return her to her colony. However, she developed a severe infection requiring surgery and antibiotics, and during the time we treated her, it was evident that, though shy, she enjoyed human contact. She is a sweet, gentle, loving girl who is more comfortable every day with being an indoor pet. Amelie is still shy and will need a calm, adult home with a soft-hearted owner who will give her time to gain confidence. Amelie's foster mom says, " As her foster (and veterinarian) I want Amelie to be placed in a forever home. She deserves it. It will take a special home - a quiet and patient home, but given time, she will be a lap cat."
