My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Shadow

Special Dog Seeking a Special Home

Meet Shadow — a 7-year-old full-blooded Husky.

This sweet, affectionate boy has been through a lot. Abused in his past, Shadow still loves people and craves cuddles once he feels safe. He’s a loyal companion waiting for the right home. ?

Shadow’s Best Qualities

Sweet, affectionate, and loves to cuddle

Active — enjoys walks, yard time, and car rides

Very smart, food-motivated, and quick to learn

Crate-trained and eager to please

What You Need to Know

Needs a home with no children and no other pets

Has food guarding behaviors and doesn’t get along with other dogs

Has bitten before when pushed in/out of his crate — but happily enters/exits with a little kibble and patience

Needs a calm, structured, experienced owner willing to continue positive training

The Right Home for Shadow

Shadow will thrive in a quiet, consistent environment where he’s the only pet. With patience and guidance, he will give endless love in return.

More about this rescue

GreenePets Foster Network, Inc. has been in continuous operation since 2004, serving dogs and puppies throughout the Upper East Tennessee region.

In 2007, GreenePets entered into a formal partnership with CrittersWork Service Dog Partners, Inc. Through this collaboration, we foster Service Dogs in Training alongside our own adoptable rescue dogs.

Our long-standing partnership with All Creatures Country Club Kennels and Training Center allows GreenePets to function as a full-service rescue organization. Despite this support, foster homes remain our greatest and most urgent need. We can never secure enough qualified foster placements to meet the demand for dogs entering rescue.

Volunteers are essential to our mission, and we are always grateful to hear from individuals willing to help in any capacity.

GreenePets is a no-kill organization. This means that when a dog is accepted into our care, that dog remains with us until a suitable forever home is found. In some cases, a permanent adoptive home may never be secured. In those situations, we remain committed to the dog for the duration of their life.

In addition to traditional rescue placements, GreenePets also assists pet owners who must rehome their animals but are able to continue fostering them while we help identify an appropriate new home. As a result, some pets listed through GreenePets may not be physically located in East Tennessee; this information is disclosed whenever applicable in individual listings.
