When her owner there could no longer care for her, Nena suddenly found herself without anyone. But thanks to a compassionate family connection — a relative here who’s part of our shelter’s extended family — she got her ticket to a brighter future. Now safe at Citrus County Animal Services, Nena is ready to begin the next chapter of her story — one filled with cozy naps, gentle affection, and the comfort of a home to finally call her own. Take the Pet Home
Adopt and the pet is legally yours! Or choose to "slumber party" which is a trial adoption. You will have up to two weeks to decide.

Pay Fee
The adoption fee is $60 for a dog and $35 for a cat. Those living within Citrus County, FL. will also purchase a $10 county license fee.

All adopters must be at least 18 years old. The adoption fee is $60 for a dog and $35 for a cat. Those living within Citrus County, FL. will also purchase a $10 county license fee. All pets are spayed/neutered, current on age and species appropriate vaccinations and flea and heartworm prevention. Kittens under 6 months of age are tested for Feline Leukemia (FeLV), and Cats over 6months of age are tested for FeLV and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). Dogs over 6 months of age are tested for heartworm disease. If the dog is heartworm positive, the treatment will be provided by our Veterinarian, at no cost to the adopter, sponsored by our generous community partner Citrus County Foundation for Animal Protection (CCFAP).
