Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Licorice is a sweet kitty who loves to lay in window all day and just relax. She loves to be petted and gets along with others. Being a young kitty, she hopes to find a furever home where her gentle demeanor will be appreciated. Licorice was adopted out in 2024. She did amazing with her new owner and loved him very much, but unfortunately, his health prevented him from caring for her any longer. Our hearts are broken for both the owner and for Licorice. Please come meet this sweet girl and give her an amazing home!

Additional adoption info

We require an adoption application be filled out (can be done online or in person). Allow 3 business days to process. Contact the shelter to check on status of application if you do not hear from us in 3 days. Upon approval, fees are $85 for a cat and $150-$250 for a dog. This includes vaccinations and altering. Renters need to demonstrate approval of landlord to have pets. Home visit may be done at the discretion of the shelter. Our adoption contract specifies adopters must comply with local animal ordinances and have current pets neutered if not already done. Animals must be returned to us if owner is no longer able to care for them

Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 11am to 4:30 pm. Please call and make an appointment, as we usually only have 1-2 staff members at the shelter at a time.

More about this shelter

We are a private non-profit limited intake no kill shelter that has been serving the county since 1978. We try to take in and care for as many animals as our small shelter can handle. We are an adoption center and not to be confused with Animal Control. We cannot pick up stray animals, that has to be done by the county. Thank you and we look forward to adopting out to you!
