My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

H! My name is Ichi, and I am IN SOUTH KOREA waiting to be matched to a home in S. California! I was rescued along with 40 other friends from an abandoned caravan in Jinhae City, S. Korea. Despite abuse and neglect, I love being around people. Everyone I meet tells me that I am a charmer. My favorite pastime? Being petted. I am playful and affectionate. People say I make them happy!! When I am with people, they make me happy too!!

LA AUTO SHOW 2025 (November, 2025)
I plan on being at LA Auto Show this year at DoVE Project's booth. If you want to meet me in person, please email info@dove-project for more details regarding the days and hours of DoVE Project's booth. See you then!!!

FOR LIMITED TIME ONLY FROM NOW THROUGH NOVEMBER 30TH, ICHI'S ADOPTION FEE IS REDUCED TO $600.

I was rescued by DoVE Project 's rescue partner in S. Korea from an abusive situation. Although S. Korea's new law banning the dog meat consumption is set to go into effect February 2027, and the consumption is all time low, the practice is still in common exiistence amongst elderly population especially in the rural countryside. Had I not been rescued by DoVE Project's rescue partner in S. Korea, no one could tell where I would have ended up. Thanks to my rescuers and DoVE Project, I am no longer in danger and am now I am looking for my forever family!

*********************************
DoVE Project has rescue partners in S. Korea who have their own private shelter and/or foster network. Our dogs stay with either a foster family or a private shelter until they are matched with an adopter in the US. Upon arrival in the US, our dogs stay in foster homes or in boarding, as we do not have a physical facility. These dogs are identified with "in LA" in their names.

Please note that we only adopt our pups in the Southern California area. Please check our website for more information regarding our adoption process, our mission, and our adoption application: https://www.dove-project.org/adoption-process

More about this rescue

DoVE Project (Dogs of Violence Exposed) is a 501(c)3 animal welfare, rights and protection organization. As our name is clearly stated, our aim is to end the Dog Meat Trade in S. Korea and other parts of the world where the dogs are slaughtered for human consumption. The condition in which these dogs are raised, bred and slaughtered is extremely brutal and inhumane. We rescue these dogs from dog farms, slaughterhouses, or dogs destined to enter into dog meat trade or be slaughtered to be eaten. Many female dogs that are rescued from the farms/slaughter houses are pregnant and oftentimes their puppies are brought to USA for adoption. Part of our campaign to end the DMT in Korea is rescue work in parallel in conjunction with our campaign to raise awareness and education within Korea.
