My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Radar — The Goofy, Loving Adventure Buddy You’ve Been Waiting For!

Radar’s story began when he wandered onto a gentleman’s farm in Andrews in September, a sweet and scruffy mystery with no ID, no microchip, and no one answering the call to claim him. With local shelters full and winter approaching, a kind-hearted soul couldn’t bear to see him homeless . That’s when we stepped in — and Radar’s second chance at life began.

This beautiful boy is believed to be around 6 months old and is expected to grow into a medium-large dog. Right now, he’s a lean, playful 30 lbs of puppy charm with a striking blonde face, expressive brown eyes, and adorably floppy ears. Oh, and don’t forget his goofy puppy antics — like walking into walls because he’s too focused on what’s behind him.

Radar is the perfect mix of silly and sweet. He’s got energy to spare and loves to romp with dogs his size or bigger. He’d thrive with a playful pup sibling, but could also do great as an only dog — especially if you’re up for snuggles, belly rubs, and toy time. He’s affectionate, loves being with people, and is a total lap dog in training.

Radar’s Ideal Home:
• A cat-free household (he tries to play a little too hard with feline friends)
• Another playful dog his size. (but not required!)
• A family or individual ready to enjoy walks, play, and puppy zoomies
• No small children or elderly family members who could be tripped by his excited energy.

While he’s still working on a few manners — like walking politely on a leash and not barking out the window — he’s super smart, food-motivated, and eager to learn. Loud noises like firecrackers or motorcycles might spook him, but everyday life (even thunder) doesn’t faze this brave pup.

While at his fosters home he is crate trained and is getting used to walking on a leash! He’s such a good boy. He isn’t 100% housebroken but does well when watched and taken out regularly.
What Makes Radar Extra Special?
• A few little scars on his head — just part of his unique charm
• A signature cowlick on the back of his neck
• An intuitive, alert personality that earned him the name “Radar”
• A face that makes everyone swoon.

Radar is up to date on vaccinations, is chipped and has been neutered. He also comes with three months of heartworm preventative. He’s a healthy, happy puppy with a heart full of love and a lifetime of tail wags, cuddles, and loyalty to give.

If you’re looking for a dog who’s always ready for an adventure — whether that’s a hike, a car ride, or a good old-fashioned game of fetch in the yard — Radar is your guy.

More about this rescue

We are a 501c3 non profit in South Carolina. PLP was started in 2015. We are a 100% foster based rescue where all dogs are placed in loving homes until a forever home is found. We pull dogs from high kill shelters in North and South Carolina whose time are up. Many of our dogs are heartworm positive, scared, defeated, and broken. Many are very sick. Each dog gets extensive vet care; all ailments taken care of, spayed or neutered, chipped, and are given all vaccines. They learn house manners and crate training while in their foster home along with how to walk on a leash and socialization skills.
Many are different dogs when they are adopted than when they came to us.
