My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Valencia was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement Team on September 29, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Valencia a long-haired beauty who loves cozy corners, and her best friend Wilson #969595, a sweet tabby with an irresistible face. This quirky duo arrived together and would be thrilled to find a home where they can relax side by side. We don't know much about their life before the shelter, and they're still adjusting to all the new sights, sounds, and smells - it's a lot to take in. So, don't expect a red carpet welcome right away. With a little time, space, and a quiet spot to call their own, their gentle personalities will shine through in soft purrs and slow, trusting blinks. Valencia's stunning long coat will need regular brushing to keep her comfortable and mat-free. If you're searching for a pair of sweet companions who might just take over your heart (and your home), Wilson and Valencia could be the perfect match. And remember - bring two secure carriers for a smooth trip home!

At SDHS:
Valencia has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. She is now ready for her new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
