"It is amazing how much love and laughter dogs bring into our lives." This reminds us of Phantom, who will be such a fine canine companion. He is three years old and weighs 70 pounds. Phantom has a stunning physique and such a sweet doggy smile. He is, in a word, fabulous and has quite the presence!
Why we love him: Phantom is such a gentle, good natured dog and we love spending time with him. He is a congenial companion on daily walks and enjoys time in the fenced yard. Most of all, he loves hanging out with our Animal Control Officers in their office, where he has such fun playing with the toys and enjoying mini games of fetch.
He had a fun time in the play yard with a family and had the best time! Phantom sits, fetches, brings the ball back, and drops it. He really enjoyed being around the older children.
He loves to roll around in the grass and kick up his legs. We love seeing him so happy and enjoying the day! Phantom truly lives in the moment and there's a lesson there for all of us.
Phantom has enjoyed play dates with his fellow shelter companions. If you have another dog, we do require a meet and greet to ensure compatibility.
Phantom is very bright and will sit, lay down and shake hands. He is a true joy to be around!
Phantom had a great outing with two of our volunteers who report: "He loaded up to go do holiday photos with Send Dog Pics. Phantom was great in the car and and enjoyed walking in East Nashville - he had big tail wags for joggers and other dogs on the sidewalk. When it was his turn to pose for his photos, he made himself comfy in the velvet fireside chair, and everyone in attendance loved how how cute and handsome he is! Phantom was perfect, A++!"
Phantom will be a wonderful dog to be at your side during the day and curling up by your side at night! He is such a good boy!

Cheatham County Animal Control is committed to finding good homes for the animals that come into the shelter system. We work with rescues and adopters. We are a no kill shelter but we rely on people coming in to adopt!
All of our cats/dogs receive vaccinations that are appropriate for the age and health when they are at animal control. We also spay and neuter all of our animals. The adopter is responsible for all vaccinations and medical care after adoption.
