Meet Ash – Your Big, Loyal Best Friend

Ash (formerly Negra) is a stunning Presa Canario mix, weighing in at 93 pounds of pure love. Despite her large size, she’s all about cuddles and connection. This sweet girl is incredibly affectionate, deeply loyal, and eager to bond with her person. If you’re looking for a devoted companion, protector, and gentle soul, Ash might be your perfect match.

Ash is:
• Crate trained – she loves her crate and sees it as her safe place
• Potty trained
• Dog-friendly – best matched with medium to large dogs
•. Working on obedience and socialization with help from a trainer

While she’s very loving with her people, Ash can be shy and cautious with strangers at first. She may bark or jump when approached head-on by unfamiliar people, so she will thrive with a confident, experienced adopter, ideally someone familiar with Cane Corsos or other guardian breeds.

She walks well on a leash, enjoys yard time, and is non-reactive to cats on walks, though she may chase outdoor cats in the yard. Because of her size and confidence-building journey, a fenced yard and a home without small pets or young kids is best while she continues learning that the world is a safe place.

Ash is a big-hearted, big-bodied girl who just needs someone to keep showing her love, structure, and patience. In return, you’ll get a best friend for life, a calm presence at home, a loyal protector by your side, and a giant cuddle bug who just wants to be near her people.

Schedule a virtual home visit. During the visit, you’ll give us a short tour of the main living areas where the pet will stay.

Welcome your new pet home! We will help coordinate pickup or transport to ensure your furry friend arrives home safely.

Additional adoption info

Out-of-State Adoptions: We happily work with adopters across the continental U.S. Transport options can be discussed during the home visit.

Adoption Fees: Fees help cover veterinary care, vaccinations, spay/neuter, and other essential needs to ensure your pet is happy and healthy. Your pet will come home spay/neutered, microchipped, FIV/FeLV tested, dewormed, vaccinated, and will have all medical needs addressed prior to adoption.

Trial Period: We offer a two-week trial period for local adopters to ensure the adoption is the right fit for you and your new pet.

Post-Adoption Support:

Our team is here to help with any questions or concerns after adoption to ensure a smooth transition. We’re committed for life—if at any point you can no longer care for your pet or if unforeseen circumstances arise, KPA will always take back any animal adopted through our organization. We’re here to ensure they’re safe and loved forever.
