Ruby is such a good girl! She is great with dogs, cats, kids, and even ferrets! She was recently surrendered due to housing challenges and is again searching for her forever home.
Ruby adores her people and is determined to sneak in as many kisses as she can—so you better watch out! She loves to jump up (and, boy, can she jump!) to say hi and give you a kiss. She is high energy and still needs some training to learn not to jump, but she learns fast and is treat-motivated! She also seems to think she's a lap dog and will try to hop up for a snuggle!
Ruby does need more training when it comes to being left home alone. She is crate-trained and does best in a crate when left alone. Otherwise, she may chew things up or go to the bathroom inside. She may do best in a home where people are home most of the time, and with time, we believe she can grow out of these behaviors, given proper training.
Kids: Around kids, Ruby is gentle, calm, and sweet. It’s clear she’s been around them for most of her life, as she is unfazed by any jumping, squealing, or other unpredictable movements or sounds. Her previous owner stated that their toddler and Ruby would even sleep together.
Dogs: Ruby does great! She does, however, get a little protective of her food and should be separated when eating around other dogs. Her previous owners said she was easy to redirect so this behavior may go away with training.
Cats: Ruby adores cats—even when they don’t seem to like her back! She will cuddle and kiss them if they let her!
Other animals: Ruby’s previous family mentioned that she loves ferrets, as well!
Ruby is the sweetest girl. Her world turned upside down when she was returned, and we could tell she was confused and depressed. With time, she’s been getting so much better, and we can see the light come back into her eyes again. She is a happy, loveable girl, with so much love to give, she can’t contain it all! If you’re looking for a companion that will love you unconditionally, Ruby is your girl.
