Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Annie!
A gentle and graceful twelve-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound currently living in New York, NY, whose tricolor coat and soulful eyes reflect the quiet wisdom and sweetness of her golden years.
Annie is the kind of companion who turns everyday moments into quiet joys. Whether she's lounging in a sunbeam, taking a slow stroll through Central Park, or curling up next to you on the couch, her calm presence brings peace and comfort. At 56 pounds, she’s a medium-sized beauty who’s mastered the art of serenity. While she’s left her playful puppy days behind, Annie still delights in relaxed walks and is particularly fond of grassy spots where she can bask in the sun and watch the world go by.
Health-wise, Annie is doing well for her age! A recent check-up showed great results, with just a mild, age-related elevation in her ALP levels that her vet is simply monitoring. She also has two benign cysts, completely non-cancerous and nothing to worry about. Annie has a sensitive stomach, but with a consistent routine, she remains happy and comfortable. She's fully house-trained, crate-trained, spayed, and up to date on all vaccinations.
Annie's temperament is one of her most beautiful qualities. She shares her current home peacefully with a toddler and a cat, showing remarkable patience even during tail tugs and toddler explorations. Her easygoing nature makes her compatible with calm dogs, though she’d also be perfectly happy as a solo sidekick. She responds to simple commands like “sit” and “come here,” and is perfectly content being left alone for short periods.
This sweet senior would thrive in a home with a yard, a soft bed, and loving caregivers who cherish slow mornings and sunny afternoons as much as she does. Long-distance adopters are welcome! Annie handled a road trip from Georgia to New York like a pro, and she’s ready to do it again for the right fit.
Are you ready to welcome this warm-hearted hound into your life and share your quiet moments with a loyal friend? Reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com to learn more about Annie!
