My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Atlas – The Handsome, Water-Loving Shadow

At around 2 years old, Atlas is a smart, playful, and affectionate pup who’s equal parts adventure buddy and cuddle companion. He came to PAC as a stray in September and quickly showed us he’s the full package — charm, smarts, and a heart of gold.

Atlas loves everything that makes life fun: splashing in water, chasing tennis balls, and showing off his tricks — sit, shake, high five, and even “speak!” He’s also a big fan of flirt pole play, which helps him burn energy and stay sharp. He enjoys playing with other dogs and would likely love a canine buddy in his future home.

Once Atlas feels safe, he’s an incredibly loyal and affectionate dog who bonds deeply. His foster calls him her “shadow” — because wherever she goes, he’s right there beside her. He’ll follow you from room to room, curl up next to you on the couch, and happily snooze by your side all night long. He’s a big softie who thinks he’s a lapdog, loves belly rubs, and gives the sweetest hugs.

Atlas can be shy or vocal when meeting new people, but give him a few minutes and he’ll melt into your best friend. Once he knows you, he remembers you and greets you with full-body excitement every time.

He’ll thrive with an active, dog-savvy family who understands strong, athletic breeds and can keep him mentally and physically engaged. Atlas will absolutely need a secure 6-foot fence — he’s proven he can be quite the escape artist and is very motivated by squirrels and rabbits! A sturdy harness (like a 3-in-1) and consistent positive training will help keep this handsome guy safe and focused.

Atlas is a bright, loving boy who just needs structure, patience, and someone who’ll appreciate his loyal, goofy heart. In return, he’ll be your shadow, your adventure partner, and your biggest fan — every single day.
