My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Shadow, here is some information on this sweet boy from his foster home,
`Shadow is a young, athletic dog who loves to run, play, and explore. He’ll happily zoom around the yard, chase toys, or go for long walks.
Shadow loves attention and cuddles—he’ll happily flop onto his back for belly rubs or lean into you for head scratches. He enjoys being petted all over and is very people-oriented. He can get a little bouncy when excited, so calm greetings work best. No known sensitivity to being touched, but due to his size, supervision around small children is recommended so he doesn’t accidentally knock them over.

Other Animals: Shadow does well with most dogs, especially medium and large breeds who can match his play style. He lives peacefully with cats—he may sniff or follow them, but he hasn’t shown prey drive. He should be supervised with very small dogs, as his size and enthusiasm can overwhelm them. Food & Toys: Shadow is very food-motivated, which makes him easy to train. He’s not aggressive with food or toys but will try to sneak snacks or investigate other pets’ bowls if given the chance. He benefits from a feeding routine with his own bowl and supervision around food.

Shadow is very smart and eager to learn, but like many young large-breed dogs, he needed guidance on manners. He can be jumpy when excited and has tried to “help himself” to food. We’ve worked on “feet on the floor,” leash manners, recall, and basic obedience. The most effective methods for him are positive reinforcement—treats (especially carrot sticks and bacon-flavored snacks!), praise, and consistency. He responds best to a calm but confident handler and daily structure. Shadow is 100% potty trained and knows sit, lay down, and “go to bed” reliably. He’s practicing shake (he understands it but still gets distracted) and has even attempted roll over once. With his smarts and eagerness to please, he’s a quick learner who thrives when kept mentally and physically active.

Shadow is a big, goofy sweetheart who just wants to be part of a family. He’s playful, loving, and happiest when he’s close to his people—whether that’s running in the yard, going on walks, or curling up on the bed for a nap. He has a silly, cuddly side and will often sprawl out belly-up for rubs or snuggle in as close as possible. Shadow is also a bit of an escape artist—he’s learned how to open doors, gates, and even his crate. He’s very clever, which makes him fun to train, but it also
