My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Tess – Your Future BFF & Heart Dog 💕🐾

Tess is a beautiful 4-year-old red hound mix weighing in at a perfect 37 pounds of sweetness and soul. Her gentle eyes tell a story of resilience and hope. Once abandoned in the countryside and brought to safety through a rescue mission, Tess is now thriving in her foster home—learning what it means to be safe, loved, and part of a family.

Though she can be shy when first meeting new people, Tess warms up with patience, kindness, and—most of all—soft pets and cuddles. Once she trusts you, she bonds deeply and becomes an incredibly loyal and affectionate companion.

Tess is playful, especially when it comes to her toys—she adores them and would love if you’d join in for a game of tug, chase, or keep-away! She also gets along wonderfully with other dogs and enjoys engaging in friendly playtime. A doggie sibling could really help her continue to blossom, but she could also thrive as your one-and-only with a little understanding and structure.

She's fully house and crate trained, walks nicely on leash, and loves a predictable routine. Her foster mom has helped her come such a long way, giving her the consistency and love she needed to feel secure—and Tess has responded beautifully. She's a smart girl who wants to learn, connect, and trust.

Tess isn’t just looking for a home—she’s looking for her person. A forever best friend who will make her feel safe, who she can follow on adventures big and small, and who will never let her feel alone or unwanted again.

She is spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up to date on all vaccinations.

If Tess sounds like your furry soulmate, please complete an application—and her foster mom will be in touch. Tess is ready to give her whole heart to the right person. Will that be you?

Additional adoption info

We endeavor to find the best home for each pet in our care. We do home visits on every pet, even if it can only be a virtual visit with pictures and videos from the potential adopter. Most of the time we adopt to people who live close enough for a personal home visit.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

We do not have a facility; so meet and greets with potential adopters, pets and current pets are done on an appointment bases; sometimes at the potential adopter's home, or in a neutral location.
