My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Note: Chester is currently in a foster home in Toronto.

Background
Chester was rescued from a small farm in a rural village in 2022, where he was chained outside and neglected as a guard dog. After being rescued, he lived at a local shelter with other dogs until he left Korea. Currently, he is in a foster home in Toronto waiting for his forever family.

Personality & Socialization
Chester is a gentle, friendly, and social dog with a calm and easygoing nature. He has medium energy, enjoys the company of people, and is not shy around strangers. Submissive and quiet, Chester prefers relaxing with other dogs rather than engaging in rough play. He does best with gentle, non-dominant, and calm dogs, making him a great match as either an only dog or as a companion to a senior or another gentle dog.

Behaviours
This sweet boy is easy to care for and well-mannered. He prefers doing his business outdoors but will use indoor pee pads if needed. On walks, Chester happily follows his human, though he may feel a little nervous in new environments at first. He’s quite independent—he isn’t needy or demanding—and has shown no destructive behaviors. Indoors, he’s very quiet. Chester travels well in the car and has been calm during vet visits and bath time.

Health & Diet
When rescued, Chester was treated for anaplasmosis and has since made a full recovery. He is now healthy, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations. He’s dewormed and receives monthly parasite prevention. Chester eats twice a day and has shown no signs of allergies.

Ideal Home
Chester would do well in almost any loving home. His gentle, independent nature makes him a great match for someone who doesn’t leave their dog alone for long hours and is looking for a calm, quiet companion. He would also be a wonderful second dog for a family with another gentle, easygoing pup. Whoever adopts Chester will be very lucky—he is truly a lovely and gentle boy.
