My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tony is a handsome pup that is looking for a home where he can get lots of walks, play with toys, and play tug o` war! Tony can sometimes be a bit reserved when meeting new people, but once he`s gotten a few snacks (no chicken, please!) he`s putty in your hands! He loves to romp and chase toys, but you`ll be the one doing the fetching - it`s worth it to see him be so goofy and chase the toy! He loves to give licks on the face and really won`t stop until you ask him to. After he`s all tuckered out, a good snuggle is all Tony wants. In his previous home, Tony enjoyed training and has learned many cues like laying on his bed while his humans ate, staying out of the kitchen, and walking very politely on leash. He can`t wait to learn more and find adventure with his new family! At this time, HSBV will only rehome him to a family without children or with children over the age of 10. Tony has enjoyed playing with other pups here at the shelter, but to help ensure it`s a good fit, we are also requiring a doggie meet-and-greet if entering a multi-dog home.

Come to our shelter during our business hours.

Our Adoption Center services are available for drop-in visitors, and our hours are Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Questions? Call us at: (303) 442-4030, or email: adoptions@boulderhumane.org.

HSBV offers adoption holds for available animals both onsite at the shelter, or by phone (303) 442-4030 during business hours. You may place a 1st hold for a $30 non-refundable service fee to support the cost of care and administration of your hold.

The Humane Society of Boulder Valley (HSBV) is a trusted source for services and information related to companion animals in Boulder and Broomfield counties. Founded in 1902, HSBV is the longest-serving, continuously operating humane society in the state of Colorado! Today, we provide a safety net to animals in need in our community and beyond. Each year, HSBV impacts more than 16,000 animals, helping them find their new beginnings in the Boulder community or working to protect happy and healthy relationships, and supports thousands of existing pet-guardian relationships in our community through our Safety Net services.

Our open-admission, socially conscious shelter provides care to any animal who comes to our facility. Open seven days a week, HSBV readily accepts community animals as guardian surrenders, stray pets, and transferred animals. The Transfer program enables us to offer a greater variety of animals to our adoption clients. The placement rates of our Adoption program ensure our doors are open to thousands of transfer animals seeking placement from overcrowded and under-served shelters in our state and region.
