More about this rescue

A 501(c)(3) Non-profit  Seattle, WA Volunteer- run, foster-based animal rescue Love Is Mighty Rescue was founded on the principle that all animals deserve respect, kindness, and compassion. Based in Seattle, WA, Love Is Mighty Rescue is a foster- based animal rescue dedicated to helping dogs from South Korea who have endured abuse, abandonment, crisis, high-kill shelters, puppy mills, and the dog meat trade find forever loving homes. While our primary focus is on South Korean rescues, we also aim to rescue dogs locally, and plan to expand these efforts as we grow. We are dedicated to promoting compassion, kindness, and respect for all animals. Partnered with South Korea rescue we help dogs facing crisis, abuse, abandonment, and the cruelty of the dog meat trade find safe, forever loving homes through responsible adoption. Our Korean dogs have been rescued from heartbreaking circumstances — puppy mills, high-kill shelters, life outside in chains, abandonment, harsh weather conditions, wildfires, dog meat farms, and slaughter houses.  Many have endured unimaginable hardship, and we are dedicated to helping them find the warmth, care, and love they deserve in a forever home. Because of social stigma in Korea and the strong preference for small purebred dogs, mixed-breed, larger, and abandoned dogs are often overlooked and face very little chance of being adopted. Together, we can give these dogs the chance to thrive, and their hearts the chance to heal from the trauma of their past. All of our adoptable rescue dogs have received full veterinary checkups, are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccinations, have had dental scaling, have undergone any known necessary medical treatments or surgeries, and are microchipped. Our dogs fly in with caring flight volunteers who ensure they travel safely to their destination. Some have already spent time with foster families in Korea and are now ready to find their forever homes in the US. We make every effort to match the right dog with the right family—the best fit for both—aiming to build happy, lifelong bonds and forever homes for our rescue dogs.
