*** Juanita is in our PetSmart Aero adoption center. ***
Juanita #19711: brown/black tabby, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 6/1/23
Cats: best solo / mellow non-dominant cat Dogs: no Children: teens+
BACKGROUND: In 2023, Juanita was taken to a vet by an independent rescuer as part of a spay/neuter program with the intent to release her where she’d been found, but the vet urged the rescuer not to do so, saying “she’s a very good girl.” So instead, the rescuer took her home. She was almost like a ghost cat, living quietly and eating her meals but staying hidden. After more than a year, her curiosity grew and slowly but surely she began to show herself. Today, she is no longer the invisible cat, and she is looking for a person who can love her forever.
PERSONALITY: Juanita is such a sweet cat. She loves human interaction and will give you happy head butts as well as rolling over so you can give her some tummy rubs. Juanita also loves playing with toys and climbing cat trees. She will likely always be cautious when arriving in a new place or when meeting new people, but she warms up with patience and love and is affectionate with her established people. A person who understands her journey and can provide a calm and welcoming environment will see her shine. Juanita’s blossoming curiosity has served her well, and it is reflected in her relaxed daily life and interactions with people.
COMPATIBILITY: Juanita would do best as an only cat. If she is living with another cat, it needs to be a mellow non-dominant cat who can shake off her being a bit of a bully/alpha. She would rather not live with dogs. A quieter home that is adult only or with calm cat-savvy teens would suit her best.
The vet that day was right: Juanita is a very good girl. If you’re looking for a special cat with a big heart and a brave spirit, she may be the one for you. Are you ready to bring her home?
