Meet Kira, a 1-year-old German Shepherd mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality! This active, talkative girl loves spending time outdoors and enjoys the company of other dogs—but what she loves most is being with people, people, people! Kira is happiest when she’s by your side, whether you’re out for a hike or just relaxing at home. She hasn’t met any cats yet, but with her friendly nature and slow introductions, we’re sure she’d do great. Kira’s enthusiasm for life sometimes means she forgets her size, so little kids might need to watch out for her big, loving hugs! If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who’ll fill your days with energy and joy, Kira is your girl.

For many years, BHS (Beatrice Humane Society) has been sheltering abandoned animals, fighting cruelty and neglect, and working to build a caring, compassionate community here in Beatrice Nebraska.

Although we have lots of volunteers and members, we are really nothing more than a single entity saying “Yes, I want to help!”.
