Meet Dewey – a one-year-old heart-stealer who’s looking for a fresh start. He was heartbreakingly surrendered to the shelter when his previous family faced eviction, and the transition has been tough because he was scared and confused at first. While in foster care, Dewey stayed hidden, yowled, and hissed at anyone who came near. But one day, everything changed — he decided his foster mom was his person. Now? He’s her little shadow, following her everywhere, soaking up cuddles, and demanding head scratches, but he’s not a fan of other animals. He lives with cats and dogs, but it’s clear he’d prefer to be the only pet where he doesn’t have to share his person. If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate companion with a big personality, Dewey is your guy. He's ready to step into his next chapter as the main character in someone’s life.
🐾 Ready to Adopt? Tip 1: It is important to remember that she/he is going to need time to feel comfortable in their new environment, and for you to establish routines (like regular interactions, scheduled feedings, litter box cleanings). TIP 2: Please make sure your home or lease allows pets and that you and others are prepared to welcome a new cat. TIP 3: Have the essentials ready: food and water dishes, cat food, litter and a litter box, space for cozy bedding, carrier and a designated veterinarian for ongoing care and vaccinations. 💛 With patience and love, you and your new companion will have the best chance to thrive—and become a cherished part of your family.
