Their adoption process
Our adoption fees range from $100 - $500 depending on species,age and breed. For dogs/puppies this covers spay/neuter, microchip, dewormers, flea and tick preventative, heartworm test (only over 6 months of age) and all up to date, age appropriate vaccinations. Cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and dewormed. We require an adoption application and a home visit prior to adoption.
We schedule meets with approved adopters only, so you must download our PreAdoption Application from our website at www.starfishanimalrescue.com and follow the instructions to email it to us.

We are not a shelter. We are a group of pet lovers and advocates who are committed to targeted rescue. Starfish Animal Rescue is a licensed rescue that is run by an all volunteer staff.
Once we rescue a dog or cat, it is placed in one of our foster homes until we are able to find it a suitable home. We are happy to set up an appointment to meet our pets once we receive and review your completed application.
We do our best to process applications quickly but please understand that we are a foster based rescue and that our volunteers work jobs; many are full time. Starfish Animal Rescue has been rescuing and transporting cats and dogs from two shelters in Southeast Kentucky. Since Starfish's conception, we have been able to rescue and transport over 10.000 dogs and cats. We are always in need of volunteers, and donations. All of our adoptable pups are in loving foster homes, preparing for their forever home.
