Jackie is a beautiful female kitten who was brought to the HSOV on August 5, 2025 along with her two brothers (Jeff and Travis). They were found in Marietta Ohio fending for themselves though they were only 8-weeks old at that time.
This young lady has a black short smooth coat, a long tail, and an adorable kitten face with golden eyes, a black velvet nose, and long black whiskers.
Jackie was given vaccinations and Pyrantel wormer on August 5, 2025. She weighed 2 lbs that day. Jackie was given booster vaccines on August 25th and September 12th 2025.
Jackie and her brother Travis had shared a cage when they entered our shelter and are currently enjoying a large cat tower with two new friends (Target and Bullseye).
Their brother Jeff (a beautiful longhaired gray kitten) was fostered by one of our compassionate HSOV kennel techs since he needed some extra TLC and supplemental feeding. Our hearts (and Haley McClain's) were broken when Jeff passed away on August 25th. He was loved every minute that we were privileged to have cared for kitten Jeff.
These photos of Jackie were taken on October 8, 2025 while she posed for her first 'big girl' pictures. Jackie was a little in awe of the paparazzi (and being separated from her brother) but she decided this was a good thing being showered with attention. Thanks to HSOV Volunteer Wendy Irvin for accompanying Jackie for her photo session.
Jackie will be spayed in the near future and will soon be ready to find a fabulous home.

Shelter management reviews applications for approval. If approved, potential adopters will be notified.

All HSOV dogs and cats must be spayed/neutered before being adopted and going to their new home.

Our adoption process includes an adoption application which must be completed and approved by our shelter management. We verify veterinarian references and also approval from landlords if the pet will be housed in rental property. Home visits may also be required prior to adoption. All dogs/cats must be spayed/neutered before being adopted.
Adoption fee for dogs is $150.00 which includes vaccinations, wormer, flea treatment, dog tag, microchip, and spay/neuter.
Adoption fee for cats is $40 and includes vaccinations, wormer, flea treatment, and spay/neuter. Most adult cats (and kittens over 3-months of age) have already been spayed/neutered.
Adoption fees for other species varies.
