My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hera, 2 years old is a work-in-progress reformed feral cat loves attention and affection when she is in the mood. She was born on the street with Dauntless and took a lot longer than Dauntless to adjust being inside.

There are moments where Hera seems like she's bipolar: one moment she'll be okay and happy, then the next she'll be agitated and hiss. (But I think that's partly because she doesn't do too well with a lot of other cats and she doesn't do too well with other females who act like "queens" of the house). There are other moments when she likes to just lay next to you and sleep, but not be petted or held, but there are other moments where she likes to play with toys, specifically lasers and feathers.

She loves to eat and she especially loves wet food. She loves shelves and cat trees with soft beds and she likes to hang out on balconies, but, because she used to be a feral, I would make sure the space is enclosed.

Hera was born on the streets and has been with with my family since we picked her up off the street and it's taken her a little while to warm up to us and become accustomed to being inside so it will take her a little bit of time getting accustomed to a new home and owner. Once she gets used to her new home and family, she'll settle down and as long as she feels like she isn't going to hop from one family to the next, she'd be an amazing new companion.

Hera really is a loving and sweet little girl. She would do best as an only cat or maybe a second cat who's a male and she did okay with our older dog, though she mostly just ignored him. Why we're rehoming her: She doesn't do well with my black female cat and she deserves to be in a home where she gets more attention than she already does.

Hera lives in Gresham with her family and her rehoming fee is $30.  Indoor only please.

More about this rescue

Cat's Cradle Rescue keeps cats out of shelters by offering an alternative to a cage - we are a no-kill FOSTER-HOME BASED rescue group that welcomes cats to our home environments as they await adoption.

Why Foster Care? Does your new kitty like children? Does she play with dogs or find other felines too uncomfortable to be around? Does he have consistent litter-box manners? Does he want to cuddle or perhaps his comfort zone is to be more independent. Many life-factors influence cat behavior and while genetics plays a role, we know that human touch, kindness, nurturing and consistency of care are non-negotiable requirements. We provide all of this.
