My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🏡 What Ritz Needs in a Home:
• A medium to large resident dog (or dogs) would be ideal — they help him feel safe and confident.
• He should be supervised around animals smaller than him.
• A calm, predictable home environment is best.
• No young children; he needs people who understand boundaries and can read dog body language.
• A fenced yard or someone who enjoys regular walks would make him very happy.

🍽️ Eating & Training:
Ritz had food insecurity early on, which caused tension with his brother. In his current foster home, he eats calmly in the same room as the resident dogs and politely lines up for treats. His progress has been amazing with structure and routine.
He is still improving with potty training — he does give signals, but needs someone who will pay attention. He is fully crate trained.

💙 His Personality:
Ritz is incredibly sweet, gentle, and treat-motivated. He loves cuddling, napping on the couch or dog bed, and relaxing with his people. He won’t be the best fit for a busy lifestyle filled with new people and animals — he’s more of a homebody who thrives with reassurance, consistency, and someone who will advocate for him when he feels unsure.

Ritz just needs a person or family who truly “gets” dogs — someone patient, loving, and ready to help him continue building trust. In return, he’ll be your loyal little shadow and endless source of sweetness.

Could Ritz be the pup you’ve been waiting for? 🐶💛

Additional adoption info

We do not use a first-come, first-serve process when adopting out our animals. Instead, we focus on best fit for each individual animal. The process is intended to ensure a long-term successful adoption for both the family and pet.

All of our adoptable animals have had a complete veterinarian checkup. Our dogs and puppies are heartworm tested. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, dewormed, and have received age-appropriate vaccines before going to their forever homes.

Feline adoption fees - $125 for kittens under 8 months, $100 if over 8 months, and $60 if over 9 years old.

Canine adoption fees - $350 for puppies under 1 year, $300 if over 1 year, and $200 if over 7 years old.
