My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Joy

Jindo Mix | 5–6 years old | Neutered Male | 7.9kg | 36cm tall

Joy was rescued in 2022 after being found as a stray suffering from a severe skin condition. With time, care, and love, he made a full recovery — and now he’s ready to find his forever home!

Personality with People

Joy can be a little shy at first, but he warms up quickly — especially if treats are involved! Once he feels comfortable, he enjoys gentle pets and will even show his belly to people he trusts. He tends to bond faster with women and may feel uneasy around sudden movements from young children (under 13). He’s comfortable being lifted and held when approached calmly.

With Other Dogs

Joy is friendly and social, greeting new dogs politely and often inviting them to play. However, he prefers calm, easygoing friends over high-energy or overly playful dogs. He enjoys short play sessions (5–10 minutes) and then likes to relax quietly on his own.

With Cats

When separated by a barrier, Joy may bark at cats, but when meeting face to face, he shows little interest and remains calm.

Walks & Outdoor Life

Joy is a wonderful walking companion — he doesn’t pull on the leash and follows his person beautifully. Outdoors, he becomes a bit more lively and curious, while at home he’s peaceful and low-energy.

Other Behaviors

Joy doesn’t guard food or toys, and he has no separation anxiety. He rarely barks and stays quiet and composed in his kennel. Car rides can make him anxious, so it’s best if he travels in a secure crate or sits with someone he trusts. He’s currently used to doing his business outdoors.

Joy is gentle, calm, and quietly affectionate — the kind of dog who finds happiness in simply being near you.

He’s waiting for someone patient and kind who’ll help him continue to blossom.
