Meet Butterball! Butterball is a 6-year-old Husky/Border Collie mix who’s as sweet as his name. This handsome 60-lb boy is neutered, affectionate, and loves attention. He’s great with kids and gets along well with other dogs, making him the perfect companion for a family or anyone who loves an affectionate, loyal friend. Butterball enjoys being part of the action — whether it’s a walk around the neighborhood, playtime in the yard, or just curling up for snuggles. He’s gentle, loving, and ready to bring so much joy to his new home. If we are adopting out a dog who has been trained the adopter must agree to one training session the day they adopt the dog (coming home). If we decide additional training sessions will be needed we will advise the adopter prior to adoption.

More about this rescue

We are a veteran-run dog rescue based in San Diego, California. Our goal is to change the rescue world. We adopt our dogs to any loving and qualified homes, but we also provide ESAs for military veterans. With The Heroic Tail’s model, we are not only able to rescue dogs from high-kill shelters who happen to be at the wrong place at the wrong time, but we are also able to help the dogs deemed “unadoptable” and give them a better chance at a happy and healthy life!
