My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Pom Pom – Your Perfect Lap Companion

Pom Pom is a beautiful, affectionate 2-year-old tuxedo girl with a big personality and an even bigger heart.

Rescued as a tiny 8-ounce kitten and bottle fed, like most bottle babies, she’s grown into a confident and loving cat who will make someone incredibly lucky.

Pom Pom is a true people cat. She’ll curl up on your lap at the breakfast table, nap on your chest while you work, or sleep by your feet at night. She thrives on companionship and would be an ideal match for someone who works from home or is retired.

She’s playful, spunky, and full of charm. She gets bursts of energy and loves to chase her brother through the house or bat toys around. Despite some vision loss (likely due to an antibiotic she received as a kitten), Pom Pom navigates the world beautifully — climbing cat trees, exploring the house and deck, and lounging in sunny spots like a pro.

Food is one of her great passions, so she uses a microchip feeder to help her maintain a healthy routine. Any unattended food left out will become her next treasure — she’s quite the little food thief!

Pom Pom gets along wonderfully with dogs, including her 85 lb foster dog buddy — she even tries to clean his ears! She’s confident, social, and would do well in a home with a secure patio or deck where she can enjoy the fresh air.

Pom Pom and her sweet brother Luke were previously adopted, but returned due to a family member’s allergies — no fault of their own. They’ve adjusted well back in foster care, but deserve a forever home where they can be the center of attention.

Their foster says it best: “Everyone who meets Pom Pom and Luke falls in love. They’re simply amazing.” If you have room in your heart and home for two affectionate, entertaining, and well-socialized cats, Pom Pom and Luke may be your perfect match.

Please see our website at https://ohlonehumanesociety.org/fostering-and-adoption/ and click on the ADOPTION APPLICATION button to submit your application and let us know if you are looking for a particular kitten. We will let you know as soon as our Kitten Foster Program Manager reviews the applications received.  All of our kittens must be spayed or neutered in our care before adoption can be finalized. Kittens require a $150 minimum adoption fee to help us fund our program.

We are looking forward to your application submission.

More about this rescue

Ohlone Humane Society (OHS) is a 501(c)(3) animal welfare nonprofit serving Fremont, Newark and Union City. We advocate for all creatures, from urban wildlife to companion animals. While OHS doesn’t operate a shelter, we’re one of the few humane societies to maintain a wildlife rehabilitation center. Founded in 1983, OHS has expanded its programs and services to benefit the animals and our community. They include but are not limited to: therapy dog teams visiting senior care facilities and libraries, delivering dog and cat food to the homeless in need, and spay-neuter assistance.
