My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Piper is very affectionate, she loves to cuddle while you are sleeping, nap on your lap while you relax and rub around your ankles till you give her the attention she is asking for. She doesn’t mind being held or picked up for a moment to be told what a pretty girl she and receive a quick cuddle. Her favorite thing to do is climb her kitty tower and race around her cat tunnels. She is a bonded pair with her brother Capone, they must be adopted together. She would do best in a dog free home. Gets along well with other cats. Loves children!

More about this rescue

H.A.L.O. is the East Contra Costa County Homeless Animals' Lifeline Organization, better known as H.A.L.O. We are a nonprofit, all volunteer, 501c(3) charitable organization who assists dogs, cats and their owners in Eastern Contra Costa County.
We rescue approximatly 500 animals a year, all by volunteers, all in our homes and in our hearts.
We are not a shelter,
We have grant funds for the spaying and neutering of East County ferals and food for them if needed.
We have a program called "Angel Ears" where certified dogs and their trainers go to the local libraries and the children read to the dogs. This has proven a very effective way to increase reading skills rapidly. We also take the dogs to senior facilities.
We are in need of volunteer in many capacities.
