My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Meet Fern!

The first thing people notice about Fern is his striking good-looks...with his bold stripes & bright eyes Fern is definitely a handsome kitty. The second thing people notice about Fern is how talkative he is...with Fern around, you'll never lack for conversation!

Fern is very playful with his sisters and the people in his house, and he is also quite cuddly. He's even been known to take up residence on a shoulder to oversee the world around him!

Fern and his 4 sisters were rescued by a worker at a local building materials yard...no place for a bunch of kittens to grow up! All 5 babies were too little to eat on their own, so they were placed with specialized fosters to be bottle-fed. Bottle fed babies have a special bond with humans, so an adopter should expect Fern to want to be around people a lot.

Cats Cradle Rescue animals are spayed or neutered and have received at least one vaccination before they are placed up for adoption.  Each animal lives in a foster home as part of the family.

Cats Cradle Rescue requires an adoption application and contract with each animal.  Our adoption fee covers Feline Leukemia and Feline Immuno Virus testing, first year's shots, spay/neuter and microchip.  We also send you home with a collar, CCR tag and starter food.

More about this rescue

We are a volunteer run, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to helping homeless cats and kittens in Ventura County. We help abandoned and unwanted animals find wonderful, new, forever homes by taking them in, getting them any needed medical care, loving them and raising them to be loving pets, then adopting them out at one of our three adoption sites. We will take in nursing or pregnant cats, newborn motherless kittens, older kittens and in some cases homeless adults cats.
We are always looking for new volunteers to help out at adoptions as well as foster animals. There are always more animals in need of care than foster homes. Cats Cradle will supply food and litter, you supply the love! Please call or email if you are interested in helping out.
