My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Tabby was brought in by her previous owner on September 17, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Tabby - one of the ultimate golden girls of the cat world! This lovely lady believes life is best enjoyed with a soft bed, a sunny window and a little peace and quiet. At first, she may play the "shy wallflower" card, but once she's had a chance to settle in, her sweet and gentle personality shines through. She's not looking for parties or chaos - just calm companionship and someone who truly appreciates the fine art of lounging. Tabby dreams of a home where she can enjoy her retirement in comfort, basking in sunbeams, supervising bird activity from the windowsill and politely requesting pets when the mood strikes. If you've got a cozy couch, a sunny spot and room in your heart for a darling golden girl, Tabby is ready to be your quiet, loving companion for life.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
