My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Petting Polly is like kneading bread dough - but the good kind, the kind that never sticks to your hands and always rises into something wonderful.
At seven months old, this healthy Cane Corso–Golden Retriever mix is equal parts squish, sunshine, and sudden bursts of spirited silliness.
One moment she’s melting into you like warm dough, and the next she’s bouncing, zooming, or doing a goofy little hop because her joy can’t be contained.
She loves with her whole heart - and frankly, her whole body. Subtlety is not her spiritual gift.
If Polly loves you, you know it.
If she loves another dog, that dog knows it, too.
She doesn’t flirt -- she fully commits. No coy glances, no “maybe I’m interested.” She launches straight into enthusiastic friendship.
Other dogs in the home will need to be playful, tolerant, and ready to receive the full force of her affectionate enthusiasm.
In her previous home, Polly was already housetrained, non-destructive, and learning her manners. She adored the kids, followed them everywhere, and tried her best to keep up with their games. She’s smart, sweet, curious, and making sense of the world one sniff, one tail wag, one goofy burst of puppy glee at a time.
And when she finally winds down, she returns to her favorite ritual: burrowing under blankets and sinking into a snuggle until she drifts off with that soft, contented sigh that says she finally feels safe again.
Polly will likely grow into an 80-pound companion, and she’ll need someone kind and patient to help her figure out how to live in that big-dog body.
If you’re looking for an affectionate, jiggly love bug with equal skill for snuggling and zooming - come meet Polly.

Additional adoption info

If all goes well and you decide to pursue adoption, you will be asked to complete a pre-adopt. Once your family, including any dogs, have also met with the dog you wish to adopt, your application will be submitted to the Adoption Committee for review. We estimate the pre-adoption process can take up to 14 days or longer.

Please note: AAS is committed to finding the best fit for each of our dogs. For this reason, we will accept multiple applications for a dog. In the case of multiple applications, we will select the applicant that is the best fit based on the needs of the dog.

Adoption fee for puppy/adult dogs is $300.00.
Adoption fee for senior dogs is $150.00.
