My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

BENJO is a handsome young 65lb lovable Lab-mix who was rescued from a high-kill pound in North Carolina by his caring rescue/foster who describes him exactly as follows: 'BENJO is a very good boy! He takes treats gently from my hand, walks very well on a leash - definitely not a puller - and he gets along great with my dogs and cats. In fact, he loves everyone he meets! BENJO even once lived happily with a young child and a newborn baby! The only thing BENJO needs to be happy is a family to love who will love him back and a fenced backyard where he can run and fetch balls - which he does perfectly and is his favorite thing to do in life! BENJO definitely enjoys attention, being petted and giving you kisses. BENJO is a naturally happy dog who loves to be around people and has a light about him that will brighten your home and bring joy to the whole family!' BENJO is fully house-trained, neutered, up-to-date on all shots and in perfect health. And did we mention that he loves CATS! So what are you waiting for? For more pictures, videos or to make BENJO a part of your family, please call Sylvia anytime at (919)7996091. Thank You for your interest in sweet baby BENJO

More about this rescue

Puffies Rescue is a small family run rescue that saves dogs that are unwanted, abused, neglected, abandoned or are owner surrendered. I created this rescue to help save as many animals that we could, that are in need of forever homes and thus far have saved several hundred living and breathing animals to date.
The dogs are then placed in foster care homes, receive proper medical care, vaccinations and are spayed and neutered before being placed into their new home. The potential applicant is asked to complete a thorough application, complete with a veterinarian reference check and a home inspection is completed to ensure the animal is going into a home that is best fitted for them. We are one of the stricter rescues as we strive to ensure that the animals placed will be treated like one of the family and not go into the wrong hands as all too many animals do and end up going back to a kill shelter or ultimately parish.
Our mission is to help educate people on the need for spaying and neutering of their animals, which creates the overpopulation of so many; the horrific cases of abuse in puppy mills and why the need to adopt rather than shop; breeding; dog fighting and to help advocate against animal abuse. The statistics are ever so overwhelming and we hope that one day there will be no animal suffering from the hands of a human and that ultimately there will be stricter animal abuse laws.
