My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Junior! 🐾

Junior is a very smart, enthusiastic boy who’s just so excited to get out and go! Because of his big energy, he doesn’t always present his best self in the kennel—but don’t let that fool you. Underneath that excitement is a good, clever dog who wants to work with you.

Junior is good with other dogs, making him a great potential companion for a home with canine friends. He has no known history with cats or children at this time.

Junior knows the cue “Wait” and does great when it’s practiced before entering his kennel and while leashing up. Using “Wait” at each door and gate helps him stay focused and sets him up for success.

Once he’s out of the kennel, Junior may jump a bit out of excitement, but after he’s outside, he settles nicely and becomes a great leash walker who’s easy to handle. If he gets distracted, simple 180 turns help regain his attention. He’s very treat motivated and responds well to a calm “Ah!” if he starts to pull.

Junior will thrive with someone who appreciates his intelligence, enjoys practicing basic training, and can help him channel his excitement in positive ways. With consistency and patience, this clever boy is going to shine 💙
