Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Pending adoption
We have a transport where we will be personally taking our dogs home leaving on 10/24/25 to NorCal, OR., and WA. Surrounding states will be added to our route as needed ☺️ We would love to add Mia to our trip for the right home!
Meet our beautiful girl Mia. She is a purebred Shih Tzu who turns 2 years of age this coming December 2025. She is calm, loving, and her gentle eyes say everything about the sweet soul she is.
Mia came into our care alongside another Shih Tzu named Monte. Their family loved them very much and had just installed a brand-new gate, but the openings between the bars were too wide for these two little ones — and with their curious nature, they quickly learned how to squeeze right through. Because they lived in a rental, their family wasn’t allowed to make changes to close the gaps. Wanting to keep them safe and give them the best future possible, they made the loving decision to ask for our help in finding them forever homes.
Mia and Monte have shared companionship beautifully, but both are perfectly content soaking up love and attention all to themselves. Mia especially thrives when she’s the center of her person’s world. She’s not high energy or demanding — she’s calm, affectionate, and happiest curled up in your arms, where the world feels safe and still.
Her favorite place is right against your heart. She’ll melt into your arms and let out the sweetest sigh, as though she’s found her true peace. When the day is done, she would love nothing more than to sleep in bed beside her person, snuggled close where she feels loved and secure. But if her next home prefers crate sleeping, she’ll accept that routine with grace — content knowing she’s safe and cared for.
Mia is not a barker. She’s polite, beautifully natured, and easy to please. She is crate trained, sleeps peacefully through the night, and loves her quiet routine. She’s wonderful with other dogs and would happily join a sweet friend in her new home, but she doesn’t need to — she’d be just as happy being the apple of her family’s eye.
Her love is deep, her presence peaceful, and her heart ready to bless her forever family with the kind of devotion only a Shih Tzu like her can give. 🤎
Her adoption fee is on our website at the bottom of her adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/__mia-3
It covers her spay, vaccines, microchip/registration, full veterinary exam, and the months of care, grooming, and love we have poured into her while she has been with us.
