My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Antoine and his sister Paris weren't sold by the breeder, so she took them to a dog auction to be sold. They were not being bid on, so we were able to save them from a life of breeding. They had seen nothing but a cage inside a building with hundreds of other dogs around them. A human came to feed/water/clean cages possibly once a day or two. Antoine is getting braver, but Paris still has a hard time accepting any contact from a person. She relies on the actions of her brother to decide what her comfort level with a person is. Antoine will approach you for quick skritches and to be picked up. They are truly a work in progress. They need to stay together so that Paris has help accepting human contact from what signs her brother gives with contact. They need a fenced yard as they are too scared to trust walking on a leash.

Additional adoption info

Upon receiving a completed application, we will contact your two personal references plus your veterinarian, and then schedule a home safety visit with you. We do have all adopters sign an adoption contract and ask for an adoption donation (dependent on the age of the dog) to help defray the costs of vetting the dogs in our care. We prefer to not place our dogs in homes where there are children under the age of 10. You must be able to pick up your dog - we do not use commercial transportation methods.

More about this rescue

We have seen the need to provide more foster home environments for dogs needing a second chance, so our rescue was just founded at the beginning of 2016. We welcome donations to help with the care of our foster dogs, and we also welcome local people interested in fostering or helping us in any way to fill out the volunteer application.
