My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Greetings...apparently my call sign here is Owl.... oh please,
If you were going to name such a majestic creatute as myself after a mere bird I would think one might have gone with Andean Condor.
🦉Impressive
🦉Outstanding
🦉Radiant.
I'm all this and more.
Personality? Oh yes. I've got one.
I'm my own boss.

Do you Chow?
No?
Well you should!

Tell you about myself?
Alrighty let's have a go- But I'm really something you need to experience in person.

🦉I'm dignified.
🦉I'm regal.
🦉I'm low maintenance.
🦉I'm an easy walker. I float by your side.
🦉I'm fairly easy going.
🦉I'm independent-not needy or clingy.
🦉I'm a mystery man.
🦉I loves da ladies. not so much those fellas -except Mr Animal Control man he's cool.
🦉I listen well.
🦉I am patient.
🦉I am a total gentleman.
🦉I'm quiet
🦉unassuming.
✋🚫I do not like the loud kennels. Those yappers get on my nerve.
✋🚫I do not like alot of shenanigans.

👀I don't make a lot of eye contact.
Don't take it personally. It takes me a bit of time to connect and invest in our relationship.
I can't be bought with treats- save your energy.

I definitely want to negotiate terms of my release from this institution of reform and renewal ASAP.
I'm looking for just the right person that can assist me in living my best life. I have a lot to offer.
Serious inquiries only.

Here are my contractual terms if you think you might be worthy of being my companion:
✋🚫1. Watch the hands. Go slow until I know you. I am not so big on those fast moving hands coming over my head.
2. Don't get clingy.
If you want a jump-in-your-lap-lick-your face- relationship that's isle B. probably something named Honey blah blah.
3. I'll make you look good. Impress your friends. But I'm not going to neighborhood picnics. I prefer quiet solitary life.

Special needs: will need brushed. To keep looking hot.
59 pounds.
Occupation:
Security. I will secure the premises and observe the shenanigans from a comfortable distance away from those hooligans you consort with.
Music interest: Enigma.
🐕‍🦺Dogs: depends.
🐈Cats: maybe. Interested in the action of outside cats.
Can walk by inside cats. Will require on leash supervision and be guided to form positive relationships.
Kids: if I must - older. 14+
I'm picky about who I let into my inner circle.
But if I like you-
I like you and I'm all in.

That's a wrap on me. I invite you to come enjoy my presence. You will certainly enjoy you time!

Chow baby!

If someone is adopting a dog and has another dog at home, we also require a "meet and greet" for the dogs as well. All animals in the home must be up to date on vaccinations prior to new pet going home. We do not adopt to people who will keep the pet outside exclusively. We may do a home visit either pre or post-adoption. Animals adopted from us are not be sold or given to another person. More about this shelter

The Humane Society of Wicomico County was started in 1968 by a group of people who wanted to help improve the lives of animals. We have come a long way in our 40+ years! We have a staff dedicated to making sure the animals that come to our doors are loved and protected as they wait for their forever home. Not only are our animals vaccinated, wormed and given flea preventative, we can treat animals that come to us with mange, ringworm, heartworm and pay for animals to be seen by an outside vet should there be a need. We have an on-site spay/neuter clinic that not only is used for our animals but we also offer low cost spay/neuter for animals of the public. We provide emergency boarding for victims of domestic abuse, fire, and medical emergencies. We also have the capability to set up an off-site emergency shelter for people evacuated from their homes. In addition, we have an education program to help teach kids about being a responsible pet guardian. We work with a wide range of rescue groups and our animals have been transported from our mid-Atlantic area throughout the North Eastern United States. Our shelter is an open admission shelter and we will take in approximately 3500 animals this year. We do what we do because of our love for animals and our desire to make a difference in their lives every single day.
