My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Art — A Retired Gentleman Looking for Love
Hello, I’m Art.
A big ol’ chonky gray tabby, full of character, wisdom, and charm. I’m in my golden years and ready to spend them soaking up love in a quiet, cozy retirement home — maybe yours?

I didn’t always have it easy. I used to live behind a Chinese restaurant as part of a feral colony. Life was tough, and it took me a long time to learn that people could be kind. When I first came to the sanctuary, you couldn’t get near me. But after lots of time, patience, and respect… I came around. These days? I’m a total ham.

Now, I love belly rubs, brushing sessions, naps in sunbeams, and being around my cat friends. I’ve become the kind of cat who leans in for affection and melts under a good chin scratch.

A few things you should know about me:
• I need other cats. They’re my emotional support system, and I thrive with feline companionship.
• I have no teeth — but don’t worry, I still enjoy crunchy treats like a champ. No dentures needed!

• I take time to trust — but once I do, I’m all in. If you’re patient and gentle, I’ll reward you with headbutts, purrs, and loyalty.

• I’m looking for peace — a calm home, comfy beds, sunny spots, and someone who’ll love me for who I am.

If you’re the kind of person who understands that love takes time, and that old souls make the best companions — I’d love to meet you.

Stop by the sanctuary any day between 1–5 PM. I’ll be the fluffy gray loaf soaking in the sunshine, dreaming of my forever home.
With warmth (and some serious purrs),

Art

I have excellent litter box habits. My new perfect family NEEDS to understand that it WILL take me a while to adjust at first and I WILL hide as I settle in. Give me time, patience, and use food as a tool to get me out of my shell — I really am a wonderful cat.

I am fully vetted: neutered, microchipped, FIV & FeLV negative, and up-to-date on all my vaccinations. I require an indoor-only home and, as with all cats — absolutely no declawing.
