My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Every Western town’s got that one larger-than-life figure who thinks he runs the place—and in this case, that’s Wyatt Earp. At just a few weeks old, this little lawman already knows he’s the biggest pup in the litter and, therefore, the one callin’ all the shots. Don’t bother tellin’ him otherwise—he’s too busy admirin’ himself in the mirror, probably wonderin’ why the other pups don’t look quite as majestic as he does.

Wyatt’s an explorer through and through. He’s got enough swagger for three dogs, but don’t let the bravado fool ya—underneath all that confidence, Wyatt’s got a soft spot a mile wide. Wyatt Earp’s the perfect mix of bold and sweet, a fearless adventurer with a cuddle addiction. He’s the kind of pup who’ll keep your days lively, your nights cozy, and your ego in check. So, if you’re lookin’ for a puppy with a big personality, a bigger heart, and the self-confidence of a Hollywood cowboy, Wyatt Earp is your man....err pup.

Wyatt Earp is a 6-week-old, 8-pound Border Collie mix (with a touch of Lab and a whole lot of swagger) who’s already declared himself sheriff, mayor, and local heartbreaker of the puppy pen. Born right here in rescue after his mama, Belle Starr, rode in from the urgent list heavy with pups and light on luck, Wyatt came into this world with confidence baked right into his bones. He’s the biggest of his litter, and boy, does he know it. You can see it in the way he struts—head high, tail waggin’, eyes gleamin’ like he’s about to challenge the horizon to a duel. And then there’s his favorite pastime—staring at himself in the mirror. Wyatt’s discovered his reflection, and we’re pretty sure he’s convinced there’s another handsome gunslinger out there lookin’ back at him. He’ll puff up, tilt his head, and give a little wag like, “Howdy, handsome—fancy seein’ you here.” Vanity? Maybe. Confidence? Absolutely. But beneath all that bravado beats the soft heart of a cuddlebug. When the day’s adventures are done and the dust has settled, Wyatt’s perfectly happy to hang up his imaginary spurs and melt right into your side. He’s loyal, affectionate, and happiest when he’s pressed against his person, snorin’ like a satisfied cowboy after a long ride. If you’re lookin’ for a puppy with a personality bigger than the Texas sky, he is for you.

Wyatt Earp is the kind of fella who thinks everyone he meets is part of his posse—dogs, kids, tumbleweeds, you name it. He loves dogs, mostly because they make excellent playmates and cuddle buddies. Kids? Oh, he’s all about ‘em. Wyatt considers tiny humans his biggest fans and has no problem hamming it up for an audience. He’ll happily tag along on any adventure—backyard treasure hunts, snack raids, or wild runs through the living room—and he’ll wag that tail like he’s leadin’ a parade the whole time. Now, as for cats—Wyatt hasn’t officially met one yet, but if his track record’s any indication, he’d probably just walk right up, introduce himself, and assume they’re destined to be best friends. He’s the type who’d get bopped on the nose once, shake it off, and say, “Alright, we’ll try again tomorrow.” Give him a week and he’d have the cat convinced to share the sunbeam—or at least tolerate his presence in it. In short, Wyatt’s got that friendly outlaw charm that makes him impossible not to love. He’s the kind of puppy who thinks the world’s his saloon, everyone’s his buddy, and life’s too short not to play with everything that moves (and maybe a few things that don’t).

Wyatt Earp might act like the big man on the prairie, but underneath all that swagger is one of the sweetest, most lovable cowpokes this side of the rescue ranch. Sitting at a 5 out of 10 on the energy scale, he’s the perfect blend of playfulness and easygoing charm—enough spirit to keep things lively, but not so much that you’ll need to install a puppy rodeo ring in your living room. He’s playful in that irresistibly goofy way only puppies can be—bounding across the yard, ears floppin’, tail waggin’, absolutely convinced he’s the star of every show. And honestly? He’s not wrong. Wyatt has a natural presence, a bit of cowboy confidence that says, “Yep, I run this here operation.” He knows he’s the biggest pup in the bunch, and he carries himself like a true leader—but the kind who settles disputes with a wag and a nudge rather than a bark. Curious about everything but smart enough to take his time, Wyatt’s the type to watch first and act later. He studies his surroundings like a tiny frontier scout, observin’ every sound and smell before he joins in on the action. He’ll let another pup test out the mud puddle first, thank you very much—but once it’s deemed safe, he’s all in, splashin’ and rollin’ with pure joy. Wyatt Earp may grow up to be a big, strong cowboy someday, but right now he’s just a baby with a curious mind, a brave heart, and a whole lotta love to give. And if you’re lucky enough to call him yours, well… partner, you’re in for one heart-stealin’, tail-waggin’ adventure. ❤️🐾

Now, before you go dreamin’ of ridin’ off into the sunset with Wyatt Earp, picturin’ him curled up at your feet like the perfect gentleman, let’s set the record straight, partner—this little cowboy’s still got some learnin’ to do. Sure, he’s handsome, charming, and has all the makings of a frontier legend, but he’s also six weeks old… which means his new family’s signin’ up for the full Wild West experience of puppyhood. First off, there’s potty training, the great frontier every pup and human must cross. Then there’s socialization, which basically means teachin’ Wyatt that the big ol’ world isn’t somethin’ to be barked at or chewed on. He’ll need to meet new folks, other dogs, maybe even a cat or two, so he grows into the confident, well-mannered cowboy he’s meant to be. A few friendly introductions and some well-placed treats, and he’ll be shakin’ paws and stealin’ hearts all over town. So dust off your boots, grab your sense of humor, and get ready to saddle up for the greatest adventure this side of the prairie—’cause life with Wyatt Earp might get messy at times, but it’ll sure as shootin’ be worth every second. ❤️🐾

Now don’t go hitchin’ up your wagon just yet—this little gunslinger won’t be ready to head home ‘til around the first weekend in November. He’s still busy learnin’ how to be the best boy in the West and perfectin’ his dramatic mirror poses. But that gives you time, partner—time to stock up on treats, puppy-proof the homestead, and mentally prepare for the cutest, funniest, most lovable bandit you’ll ever meet.

So if you’re ready to bring home your very own frontier legend, grab that adoption application at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app faster than a tumbleweed in a windstorm, and we’ll send it along to his foster family. You’ll need to mosey on down to Oklahoma City, OK to pick him up—no home delivery, no lasso mail, and no sneakin’ him through the Pony Express.

Once you meet Wyatt Earp, though, you won’t be ridin’ home alone—you’ll be headin’ off into the sunset with your new best friend, a pocketful of puppy kisses, and one very smug little outlaw who’s already claimed your heart. ❤️🐾
