My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Sugarplum... A shy soul, she prefers to keep her distance while she studies her surroundings - and you - from a safe perch. She's not quick to trust, but once she does, she greets you with head bumps and flips onto the ground for pets. She loves to play tag with her foster sisters Jasmine and Moana and throw around her toy mice. Her favorite activity is darting around the room trying to catch the laser pointer with her foster friends. She also loves her Churu treat before she goes to bed and patiently waits her turn.

Sugarplum is looking for a patient adopter who can give her the time and space she needs to fully trust you. She shares a foster room with foster-friends Jasmine and Moana, however, we think she would do ok as a single cat, or with another chill resident kitty, with proper introductions. She can be very shy at first and doesn't enjoy loud noise so we think she would do best in a home with adults only or older children that can respect her boundaries.

Sugarplum is estimated to be about 2.5 years old. She is spayed, dewormed, flea treated, vaccinated, microchipped, and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV. Please apply to adopt Sugarplum (and maybe a friend?) today!

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Typically we talk a little with potential adopters to find a cat who is a good fit before sharing the application.

2.

Approve Application

We check over the application including checking vet references and doing landlord checks.

3.

Interview

We spend more time chatting with the adopters to specifically go over any questions from the application and details about the specific cat.

4.

Meet the Pet

Potential adopters have a meet and greet with the cat or kitten in the foster home.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

At the meet and greet, if all goes well, the adoption contract can be signed, the fee can be paid, and the pet can go home!

6.

Pay Fee

7.

Additional adoption info

We try to do our best to make sure we find good fitting, responsible homes, without wasting a lot of our time. Our app has a lot of screening questions which help eliminate potential adopters who might not be serious (they usually just don't return the app), or not a good fit, which is why the in depth interview happens once the app is returned.

More about this rescue

We are a small but dedicated 501c3 nonprofit cat rescue specializing in making one person's garbage kitten another person's forever cat.

Our mission is to reduce feline suffering and overpopulation using a combination of TNR and adoptions. We foster and socialize whenever we have the resources to do so, including behavioral cats and kittens who might otherwise just be candidates for TNR.
