My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

There’s nothing quite like the bond between sisters! Meet Kia & Mia - two adorable girls just under a year old and ready for fun. Mia has the most unique shadowy black-and-grey coat, while Kia rocks a striking tuxedo look that suits her perfectly. These two are total goofballs when it comes to playtime. Their absolute favourite? The DaBird wand toy with the feather attachment. The second it appears, they’re off - leaping, pouncing, and zooming around like tiny acrobats. Sprinkle a little catnip on their toys and things really kick into high gear. The tunnel is another big hit, providing loads of entertainment as they chase each other through it. Kia and Mia are natural explorers and climbers who love checking out their surroundings and figuring out where the next adventure might be. Kia tends to be the braver one, while Mia is a bit more shy and happily follows her sister’s lead. They may need a little time to settle in and feel comfortable in a new home, but their sweet personalities are blossoming more every day. They get along well with the other cats in the adoption room, but these two are a bonded pair and MUST be adopted together.

Kia and Mia originally came to us after being born in a barn. Thankfully, they were brought into foster care and will never have to worry about life outdoors again. Safe to say, the barn life just isn’t their style.

Now these sisters are ready to find a forever home of their own, where they can keep playing with their favourite toys, chasing each other through tunnels, and most importantly, stay together forever.

As we often receive numerous applications for each cat or kitten, we will only contact applicants who best suit the needs of the cat or kitten. For example, if it is stipulated that the cat needs another cat buddy at home and you do not have one, you may not receive a response. Finding the best home for our cat or kitten is our top priority. Applications are not first-come, first-served.

More about this rescue

Home at Last Rescue (HALR) is a Registered Canadian Charity, that is 100% volunteer driven. Our goal is to rescue cats from substandard living conditions and give them the loving homes they deserve.

We provide medical care, emotional support and a loving environment while preparing them to find their forever homes. With no physical location, all of our cats and kittens reside in loving foster homes across the Greater Toronto Area until they are ready for adoption.

We receive no government funding and rely solely on adoption fees, donations and our fundraising efforts to support our initiatives. We believe there is a home for every cat and a cat for every home.
