Sam is the adventurous one of his litter. He loves to explore and is not afraid of our other cat – he’s brave in the face of his grumpy aunt kitty! Sam loves to fall asleep in your lap and get all of the attention. He also loves playing with his 4 siblings and chasing them around their room.

Our adoption center is at 6357 Quinn Dr. right at the Old Jefferson and Tiger Bend intersection, close to Airline at Siegen/Sherwood Forest area. Normal adoption hours for Dogs are from 12:00pm to 4:00pm every Saturday. Cats are by appointment only.

The Capital Area Animal Welfare Society is a non-profit organization committed to the well-being of animals in the Baton Rouge community by adopting homeless animals, teaching the community responsible pet ownership and the humane treatment of animals, and promoting the practice of spay/neuter at all times. Our ultimate goal is to have Baton Rouge be a model in the South where all adoptable animals find loving homes.
CAAWS does not receive any government assistance and subsists solely from private donations and memberships. Please support CAAWS so that we may continue with the work we do. All donations and memberships are tax-deductible.
