My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Kobe — Our Golden Bachelor! Looking for a long-term nap partner. Great listener, certified couch potato, and still young at heart. This handsome gentleman’s journey hasn’t been easy. Kobe was heartbreakingly dropped off at the shelter by his owner because they were moving. Since coming to Grandma’s Barn Rescue & Sanctuary, Kobe has been given the care he always deserved: Treated for skin allergies, dewormed, loved, and nurtured back to health.
Now, he’s in boarding after being failed by another human. Instead of learning how to enjoy life and discover the simple joys of being part of a family, Kobe waits in boarding being unseen and going unnoticed. HE URGENTLY needs a foster or, even better an adopter to commit to networking him and helping him feel loved and ready for a forever family. Kobe is ready to meet his forever person… someone who will give him the stability, kindness, and love he’s been waiting for all along.

More about this rescue

Tucked away in the wide-open spaces of Northern Nevada, Grandma’s Barn Rescue & Sanctuary is a safe and loving refuge for animals in need. We provide care and shelter to horses, donkeys, and dogs, and dream of expanding our rescue to welcome cows, goats, and other farm animals in the near future.

Our name is inspired by our beloved great-grandmother, who at 99 years old continues to share her deep love for animals. Grandma’s compassion is the heart of our mission—to give every animal a second chance at life, whether through permanent sanctuary, foster care, or adoption into a forever home.

At Grandma’s Barn, we believe that every animal deserves to feel safe, valued, and loved. Whether you’re looking to adopt, foster, support, or simply follow along, we’re so glad you're here. Welcome to the barn—where love lives, and every animal matters.
