Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Boomer– Your Next Adventure Buddy!
Born: July 10, 2025 | Weight: 15lbs | Male | Breed: German Shorthair Mix
Looking for a pup who’s equal parts sweet and spirited? Meet Boomer, the confident little explorer who’s already stealing hearts (and maybe a sock or two). At just a few months old, this smart cookie has already mastered "sit" in record time and is quickly learning all the puppy basics – including leash walking... though those falling leaves are very suspicious.
Boomer is curious, attentive, and eager to learn, making training a breeze. His recall is impressive for such a young pup, and he’s got the kind of focused energy that’ll thrive in an active, engaged home. Whether you're into hiking trails or backyard adventures, Boomer is ready to be right by your side, tail wagging and nose to the wind.
Boomer is currently living with several larger resident dogs and fits right in—he’s respectful, playful, and knows when to give space or jump into the fun. He hasn’t been tested with cats or small animals yet, so slow, supervised introductions would be best. As for kids? He loves them! Boomer has met children of all ages and greets them with wagging tails and gentle curiosity—he’s a natural with little humans. Crate training may take some time, since he hasn’t been separated from his siblings, but he hasn’t had any accidents in his crate yet!
If you’re looking for a loyal, loving sidekick who’s ready to grow with you, Boomer’s your guy. Come meet him – he might be small now, but his heart (and potential) are huge!
Our standard adoption fee is $375 if paid by cash or check, or $385 if paid by credit card (which includes a $10 processing fee). This fee covers spay/neuter surgery when age appropriate at one of our participating veterinarians, age-appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative, and microchipping.
In order to be considered for adoption, we require a fully completed application, a phone interview, and a meet-and-greet with your entire family. Please note that submitting an application does not commit you to adopting and does not guarantee approval—it simply allows us to begin the review process.
If you are interested in adopting or would like additional information, please email us at adopt@safehavendogsIL.org to request an application.
Keep in mind that the breed and size listed in each dog's biography are our best educated guesses and are not guaranteed.
Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to refuse the adoption of any dog or puppy to any applicant for any reason.
